Richard Kasperowicz (Rick Kasper) born on August 2, 1951 passed on July 2, 2024 at the age of 72. He was devoted to his family and never wavered in that devotion. He is survived by his wife, best friend, and companion of 53 years, Connie Kasperowicz (Fisher), his three daughters, Charity Richards (Jay), Hanna Curry (Christian), and Carie Brock (Kevin) and seven grandkids: Sonny (Caroline), Abby (Alvie), Kasper, Carissa, Cameron, Caleb, and Clara. He is also survived by his older brother, Ron Kasperowicz, and several extended family members that he loved very much.

Rick grew up in Rochester, NY, built his family on Lake Lemon in Unionville, IN, and retired to Odessa, FL. Rick’s career at Otis Elevator, Bloomington, IN, spanned 30+ years. He is preceded in death by his parents Chet Kasperowicz (Lynn) and Clara Kasperowicz, and also his beloved cat, Jingles (Jimmy, 007).

Rick never met a stranger and was as jovial as they come. The king of small talk loved discussions about your day and the weather. He loved a cold beer, good food, swimming, playing games on his laptop, watching movies and being “Champion of the World” in Crazy 8’s against his grandkids. Working hard and playing harder was a motto he lived by. Getting his chores done early to take his afternoon nap was essential in his older age. He never worked past 2:00 p.m. because it was against the rules. He was always willing to lend a helping hand or even better, to be the supervisor. Gardening, softball, coach, mowing, adventurous, proud, fun-loving, and goofy are words among many that are associated with Rick. He will be missed dearly.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the celebration of life on August 3, 2024 in Bloomington, IN at the Elks Lodge between 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. 400 N Walnut St, Bloomington, IN 47404.
