AOC says many Democrats who want Biden to drop out don't want Harris on the ticket either

WASHINGTON - Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., gave her take about President Joe Biden’s imperiled campaign Thursday night, saying that many Democrats who want Biden to drop out don't want Vice President Kamala Harris on the ticket either.

In her Instagram live Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez said that she’s been in many of the rooms where her Democratic colleagues are having conversations about getting Biden off the ticket.

“If you think there is a consensus among the people who want Joe Biden to leave that they will support Vice President Kamala Harris, you would be mistaken," she said.

She added that, “I'm in these rooms, I see what they say... a lot of them are not just interested in removing the president, they are interested in removing the whole ticket."

Ocasio-Cortez told reporters earlier this month that she supports Biden’s decision to stay in the 2024 race.

“I have spoken with him extensively. He made clear then and he has made clear since that he is still in this race. The matter is closed,” she said at the time. “He had reiterated that this morning. He has reiterated that to the public. Joe Biden is our nominee. He is not leaving this race. He is in this race and I support him.”
