See Dylan Sprouse and the cast of 'The Duel" at red carpet premiere

Indianapolis is going Hollywood this month with the theatrical release of “The Duel,” the Dylan Sprouse-starring movie that was filmed here.

Sprouse and the cast will be here for a red carpet premiere event on July 28 at Hilbert Circle Theatre, 45 Monument Circle, in downtown Indianapolis.

Tickets went on sale July 11.

Red carpet arrivals begin at 6 p.m. The 7:30 p.m. screening is followed by questions with Sprouse, the cast and crew. A VIP after-party at Newfields will be held immediately following the premiere.

Admission is $50 for general admission, $150 for premium seating and a drink ticket, and $500 for a VIP package that includes the after-party at Newfields inside “The LUME Indianapolis featuring Dalí Alive” exhibit.

Dylan Sprouse stars in ‘The Duel’

In addition to Sprouse (“The Suite Life of Zach & Cody,” “Beautiful Disaster”), who is also an executive producer, the dramedy stars Callan McAuliffe (“The Walking Dead”) and Patrick Warburton (“Seinfeld,” “The Emperor's New Groove”).

The story follows Woody (McAuliffe), who, upon discovering that his best friend, Colin (Sprouse), has been having an affair with his girlfriend, challenges Colin to a gentleman’s duel to the death.

Other cast members are Denny Love (“Looking for Alaska”), Hart Denton (“Riverdale”), María Gabriela de Faría (upcoming “Superman”), Rachel Matthews (“Upgraded”), Christian McGaffney (“Simón”) and Ronald Guttman (Broadway’s “Patriots”).

Written and directed by Justin Matthews and Luke Spencer Roberts, “The Duel” was filmed at the Inferno Room tiki bar in Fountain Square; the catacombs beneath City Market; Midland Arts & Antiques; and Asherwood, the former estate of Mel and Bren Simon in Carmel.

The movie is the seventh feature film from Pigasus Pictures, founded in 2016 by Indiana University alumni Zachary Spicer and Gordon Strain. 

Previous Pigasus projects have made appearances at prestigious international film festivals, including South by Southwest (SXSW), Toronto International Film Festival, Santa Barbara Film Festival and San Sebastián International Film Festival.

All of Pigasus’ films are shot and produced in Indiana.

Starting July 31, “The Duel” will be distributed through Lionsgate and screened in more than 500 theaters nationwide.

“The Duel” is rated R with a one-hour and 35-minute run time.
