On the Menu: Bruster's offers special eclipse waffle cone; Lennie's celebrates Dyngus Day
Bruster's Real Ice Cream, at 4531 E. Third St., will offer a special eclipse waffle cone with "Sunny Yellow" vanilla ice cream and Hershey's Special Dark chocolate ice cream. Bruster's also will have a Ring of Fire Freeze made with dragon fruit and lemon sorbet blended with Starry soda.
New flavors featured in April will be mixed berry cheesecake, which is cheesecake ice cream with swirls of blueberry, strawberry and graham cracker ribbon; and fan favorite Southern Banana Puddin' with Nilla Wafer chunks in banana pudding ice cream.
Easter brunch at Tudor Room is full; Sahm's at Eagle Point still has seats
Some Easter day brunches have already filled up. Easter is March 31 this year, a little earlier than some other years. If you wanted to eat at the Tudor Room in the Indiana Memorial Union, you'll have to join the waiting list, because tables are full. Call 812-855-1620 to be added.
Sahm's at Eagle Point, 2250 E. Pointe Road near Lake Monroe, still has seats available. The brunch buffet — open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — will have breakfast favorites, sandwiches, pasta, vegetables and more. Cost is $29.99 for adults, $14.99 for kids age 6-12 and $5.99 for kids age 3-5. Lennie’s Dyngus Day specials return April 1-2
Celebrate Dyngus Day with Lennie’s special menu, available 4-9 p.m. Monday, April 1, and Tuesday, April 2, or while supplies last.
Try Klopsiki, a special appetizer of Polish meatballs covered in a sour cream and mushroom gravy. Entrees will be goulash made with beef braised in red wine, mushroom and sour cream sauce; kielbasa of smoked pork sausage served with horseradish mustard; and pierogi, which are pastries filled with potato and cheese and lightly browned in butter. All the entrees will be served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. For dessert there will be Szarlotka, a house-made apple cake served with vanilla ice cream.
